Le denominazioni proprie nella narrativa contemporanea polacca in una prospettiva traduttologica

Abstract

The aim of this essay is to describe the peculiar aspects of the translation of proper names from Polish into Italian in two contemporary novels: Morte a Breslavia by Marek Krajewski and Il mondo dietro Dukla by Andrzej Stasiuk. The analysis points out different classes of geographical names – their presence in contemporary Polish novels is significant – and reconstructs the norms that govern the process of their translation into the target culture.
