Abstract
This paper investigates the troubled onomastics of Rugantino, surely the most famous work by Antonio Baldini (1889-1962), writer, journalist and prominent essayist, in his correspondence with Arnaldo Bocelli (1900-1974), which dominated for a very long time the literary pages of several prestigious national magazines. The very uncertaimy that accompanied the choice of the name lies behind the ‘ideological choice’ of the author to insert the ‘Roman writings’ in the collection.
