Abstract
In this paper we highlight the relationship between onomasticchoices and the evolution of one of the central figures of Dostoevsky’s novels, the rebel. In his journey made of choices, of dramatic falls from grace and equally dramatic regeneration, the rebel treads a path that goes a realibus ad realeora, in a sort of ethical, moral and philosophical ascent from man to God. We underline how the onomaturgical technique adopted by the author accompanies this evolution and represents a key to understanding the modalities and motivations that determine it.
