Résumé
Il partigiano Johnny by Beppe Fenoglio is located in the mountains of the Piedmont region during the Second World War. It narrates events in the life of Johnny, the protagonist, who fights against the Nazis and the Fascists. In the story there are two levels: autobiographic and literary. This novel was published posthumously due to a textual reconstruction done on the many unfinished manuscripts left by Fenoglio; in these manuscripts it is possible to observe many name changes. Through the analysis of the manuscripts, the names that could be considered factual (autobiographic) are separated from those that are literary (narrative), in order to infer Beppe Fenoglio’s onomastic strategies.
