Resumen
Francesco Mastriani is the author of a number of historical novels published between 1854 and 1882. In these works he pays great attention to the names of his characters, attributing to each a specific narrative function. This paper analyzes the onomastic choices made by the Neapolitan writer in creating relationships between fictional characters and real ones, recalling past ages and enlivening theplot of the novel.
