Abstract
This paper analyzes names found in the ‘trench newspapers’ published under the Italian Military Supreme Authority control after the defeat of Caporetto (1917). The author divides the results of her research into four semantic areas: objects of everyday use, geographical nouns, propaganda slogans, journalistic terminology. Her aim is to show that any names published in a newspaper could be used for war propaganda.
