Strategie dantesche nella denominazione dei poeti. Bertran de Born e Pier Della Vigna

Abstract

In the context of the onomastic traditions within the Comedy, those referring to early literary figures, both Italian and Roman, are particulary revelant. By failing to name Pier della Vigna and by means of Bertran de Born’s disturbing self-proclamation (Inferno XIII and XXVIII), Dante suggests not only a critical and distancing reinterpretation of the work of the two poets, but also a radical rethinking of his own poetic and moral itinerary.
