Abstract
This paper focuses on a comic strip, hugely successful at a local level and, published in Cagliari from 1999 to 2015. Set in the Sardinian capital, it presents, ironically and at times, grotesquely, a whole set of of characters, situations and places, all in a working-class context. In its draughtsmanship, the comic is firmly set in a long-established local tradition. In its comic verve, leaning towards satire and lampoon, it well represents its home town of Cagliari. The onomastic interest of the text derives from the realistic names given to the characters, emblematic of the transformation undergone, in the second half of the twentieth century, by the entire onomastic corpus of Sardinia, particularly in working-class urban areas.
